I took my two younger sons to see "Iron Man 3" this afternoon. Good, not great. It was better than "Iron Man 2," which wasn't very good, but not nearly as much fun as the first "Iron Man" or "The Avengers." Robert Downey Jr. is still terrific.
"Hey...Dad. Wanna Have A Catch?" Kevin Costner in "Field Of Dreams."

I was very disappointed in 42 for this very reason, I didn't know the rating before I went but I didn't expect it to be so hokie honestly. It played out like a Disney movie for kids to me. I know Spike Lee tried to get funding for a Robinson bio in the 90's and feel like his version would have been real and for that reason alone better.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Yep, I'd rather my kids know the real story than the Disney-fied version...

I would have liked to have seen Darren Aranofsky's 42. Jackie Robinson tries to make his mark in the big leagues despite his heroine addiction. Meanwhile, Branch Rickey runs a sex trafficking ring and is eventually murdered by one of the homeless, runaway teens.

I've always said that a good Jackie Robinson biopic should only play on 120 screens nationwide.

Just watched "The Place Beyond the Pines". Was not entertained at all. Kept waiting for something to happened and it never seemed to. Kept feeling like the movie was building up to something but left me wanting more.

Watched 42 last week with two boys. They really enjoyed it. Was just ok for me as some things will come off corny to the big baseball fan. But it really left an impression on the kids who are 8 and 9, which was great.

Shouldn't there be a Robinson-Rickey love scene too?

One of the best movies of 2012. It's a shame that Lincoln came out, because Daniel Day was a lock for Best Actor. Denzel does some of his best work in "Flight".

I think the ending worked because they were trying to pin the blame on his co-worker/flight attendant/mistress, and he just couldn't do it and he came clean about his addiction. It worked for me.

Plus Robert DeNiro was great, as Bradley Cooper's father. Definitely a must see, especially if you owe your wife a movie or two.
    Great movie.

Dude wanted his wife, job, and life back and didn't realize how bad his past life really was. The whole movie he wants it back, even though his wife is divorcing him, has a restraining order against him, had an affair on him, and he's also banned from teaching at the school.

Meanwhile, everyone else realizes it........some special people come into his life.........and he's still focused on his past life. Finally in the end, he realizes the good things he has going now and lets go.

    Great performances. Interesting plot.

    Aliens is the best one.

James Cameron knows how to do action.

I love his movie with Schwarz and Jamie Lee.......Can't think of the title right now. Where he grabs her hand and lifts her out of the car as it crashes off the highway into the ocean. What is the name of that movie? Got it. True Lies.

I thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The only part I could stand was about the last 20 minutes where he puts on the special effects to scare away the witches.

I greatly prefer Alien, but then it's not an action movie...

Meh. She turns into the ugly Wicked Witch of the West halfway through the movie. So mostly no.

Saw Iron Man 3 last night. Not bad. The 3D really didn't add to the experience much. Some cool stuff but kind of a disappointment.
