    My favorite films of 2013:

    Fruitvale Station
    Mud
    The Way Way Back
    Side Effects
    Short Term 12
    Prisoners
    Gravity
    Rush
    Inside Llewyn Davis
    Dallas Buyers Club
    Her

You would have a difficult time convincing me that sex was used to sell any of those movies...

I haven't decided if Boyhood is the masterpiece all the critics are saying it is, but it left me speechless afterwards, which is what most great movies do to me...

I decided last night to watch Zardoz since I had nothing to do. I think it's safe to say that John Boorman was on LSD and coke at the time he wrote and direct the movie. I got what he was trying to say but it was clearly a movie that was a product of the 70's.

I watched the documentary "Overnight" about the rise and fall of Troy Duffy (writer/director of Boondock Saints). Wow, what an incredible ahole.

Who knows but Walter Bishop from Fringe would approve of his drug choice.

Just got back from Gone Girl. Highly recommended. Loved it.

Saw the third trailer for Interstellar, can't wait for that. The Stephen Hawking movie and Fury are also coming out soon and I'm excited for those.

While I'm on the subject of trailers...there was a trailer for a movie based on a book by Nicholas Kick Me in The Balls Sparks. How, how do his books keep being made into movies?

    Anyway, see Gone Girl.

    Gone Girl was great.

I had a Fincher marathon the other night, saw the two of his movies I hadn't seen previously - Benjamin Button and Girl With A Dragon Tattoo. Love that guy.

It's his weakest movie (apart from Alien3 which I only sort of count coming so early in his career) - basically Forest Gump 2. But it was beautifully filmed.

I didn't think it was terrible but I thought I could have used about %50 less of it.
