Come on now, clearly Newport Red knows more about navigating Afghani terrain while being chased by the Taliban than Navy SEALs.

Kinda hard when your adversary has the high ground and knows the terrain like you know your backyard. But hey, you know all the right moves...lol

So, by the responses, they had no chance and it was essentially a SEAL snuff film.

I know it is based off a best seller and I did not read it. I'll end by saying the movie must have been a terrible adaption of the book.

Yeah...once the let them go, there wasn't much of a chance them getting outa there alive, unless they could get the coms to work!!! As far as the book, haven't read it yet!

The book was good and the film was with it for the most part, with the exception of a couple embellishments. Just a word to the wise for anyone wanting to read it. Luttrell is fairly far right on the political spectrum, and I don't really have a problem with that myself, but at times it seemed like his political viewpoints were pretty obvious. I didn't have an issue with it, but some might. Also, there's a reason he was a SEAL and not a writer. It's a compelling story and well worth reading though.

I'm looking forward to Monuments Men, I will probably see it the first weekend it's out.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

2013 was a big year for the summer coming-of-age indie flick. I enjoyed The Kings of Summer, but the gold standard was The Way Way Back...

I loved The Way Way Back (I mean Sam Rockwell certainly should have been nominated for some awards) but I think I like 'Kings' a little more. I did just see it so its still fresh.

"The Way Way Back" is great; Sam Rockwell was basically Bill Murray from "Meatballs", only funnier. I'll have to check out "Kings of Summer" now.

Unusual to have him playing the same part in two movies ('The Social Network' being the other.)
