Kansas? Really?
KU fans, like UNC fans, have always seemed respectful and knowledgeable. In fact, those would be the first two I'd rank in terms of pleasantries.

I don't really follow any other team sports so I won't comment about the other categories. I have a lot of faves in gymnastics and figure skating though.
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”

Did I do that right?

Your analogy of WVU fans is my analogy of Marshall fans. Also add with the Marshall fans:
"It was a moral victory."
"Its doesn't matter if we lose all of our games as long as we beat WVU-our obsession of envy."
and my personal favorite Marshall fan's qoute...
"We played good with them for a half!"
I always heard WVU didn't believe in moral victories. The LSU game proved otherwise. WVU got blown out in Morgantown yet they ran up 533 total yards on the "best defense in the nation".
If that isn't the definition of a moral victory, I don't know what is.
I'll always say the Friend of Joe Bowl was played five years too late. I think it would be best for both teams to do away with the series and see what happens if the two ever meet in a bowl game and Marshall comes out with the win. That's how Kentucky and Louisville started playing in basketball on a yearly basis.
I know what you saying about the LSU game, but I was one of the fans that said we lost, plain and simple. There are NO good losses, I don't care if you are the 0-10 team playing the #1 team in the nation, there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING good about a loss. So in reality I could care less that WVU put up 500 and some odd yards against LSU because the end result was a Loss. Yes I have ZERO respect for MooU football, their fans gave me this snobbish attitude, I truly hate their program.
The FOJB was not 5 years too late, WVU would have dominated that game no matter the decade. The level of athletes from both institutions were and always will be on different levels. Its kind of like putting a Class A high school JV team against a Class AAA powerhouse, the outcomes will be predictable.
