So which is higher, number of starts he would have made this year or number of save opportunities he'll see?

AAAstros. Haha. That's pretty darn good. I'm going to steal that one.

AAstros might be more accurate though.

In Cincinnati beer circles, they are known as the aStrohs.

Speaking in fantasy baseball terms, a closer with SP eligibility is a jewel in the rough.

Also, wow! The Astros must really want that #1 draft pick next year.

Then again, this takes the bat away from what I'm guessing is relatively one of the worst-hitting pitchers in the league. Maybe the offense is so bad that it makes since to get Brett Myers as few at-bats as possible.

The most common term around here in Houston is the "Lastros". This year it should be appropriate.

Depends on the rules of the league. In my keeper league, it's the opposite. A good starter with RP eligibility is golden. For example, I have Matt Moore who is going to be one of my starting "relief pitchers" all year, even though he's a starter. I also have Aroldis Chapman and was planning on the same for him, but if he starts the season at Louisville as planned I might cut him.

My league is a points-based league, so saves are not mandatory for a team to have success. However, you are probably in a league where saves are a big deal (or just a straight roto league) and if that's the case, yes, it's easy to see why Myers would have some decent value.
