A week from now, no one is going to remember anything about today's game in Arizona. The first of many spring training games made up of various players, from different levels of expertise, thrown together on a baseball field miles from home. It is not on TV. It is not broadcast on radio. If we are lucky, maybe someone might tweet a thing or two about it. I keep telling myself that it means nothing. Nada. Zip.
But it is a start of, what many of us here on RedsZone are to believe, a FANtastic year for the Reds!
And great move to put Mike Leake as the "opening spring training day" pitcher. Maybe lost in the shadows of all of the off season pitching moves, Mike has earned this wee bit of recognition for working hard, facing up to harsh criticism last season, digging in and developing his skills to where they are today.
