Re: Papelbon says Phillies fans are smarter than Red Sox fans

Papelbon continued: "The Philly fans tend to know the game a little better, being in the National League, you know, the way the game is played."
I love this quote. It's interesting to hear an AL pitcher say that. Although I've always thought of Philly fans as the Red Sox fans of the NL.

"I've had a guy take off his prosthetic leg and throw it in the bullpen in Boston and want me to sign it."
I knew a guy once with a prosthetic leg. Those things STINK when you take them off, especially when you've been walking on it in the heat. I bet that was a horrible experience.
"I never argue with people who say baseball is boring, because baseball is boring. And then, suddenly, it isn't. And that's what makes it great." - Joe Posnanski

I can see the scene in parties, "Please, we really don't want to see your Papelbon autograph again."

I hope it was only w/ a dry erase, for the fans sake.

    Kinda fools' gold, no?
There is no such thing as a pitching prospect.
