Whatever you do, do your best to not allow the struggles of life to interfere with the pleasures of living.
Didi is now a part time player who has OPS'd around .600 for the last 2+ months. He is absolutely brutal vs. left handers, and the Dbacks have realized that. They also bat Didi 8th now, and he would look awful in the 2 hole. Cozart has also been the better defender.

His OBP in the last two months blows what Cozart has done this season (or over the same stretch of 2 months) out of the water..... shouldn't bat 2nd though.
I also don't know that Cozart has been the better defender. The numbers say he is better, but you know what they say about defensive metrics and how long it takes for them to normalize. Both guys are good though.
As the Reds head to Milwaukee, Juan Francisco of the Brewers has the follow stat line in 191 Brewer PAs this year -- .251/.335/.491/.826 OPS. With them, JF has 59 Ks and 20 BBs, a lot of Ks but an improved ratio from his earlier days. Reds should be careful with him in series coming up, Parra should be getting ready for him in clutch spots.
Still not a complete player by any means, but JF is dangerous.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
I don't get the awfully old comment at all. It's a resounding theme with you and Cozart - I get that. 28-33 is the understood prime age for mlbers. Are you suggesting a player peaks and becomes "he is what he is"? I guess I just disagree. Coaching still occurs, adjustments still occur, watching and analytics of video still occur, a professional drive to get better and make more money still occurs. Impending Free Agency comes around this time. I could go on and on. I am opptimustic that players such as Cozart don't just throw in the towell at an awfully old age of 28. I see no physical or mental Attributes that tell me Cozart has peaked and packed it in.

Miggys worst year probably crushes Zacks best potential years. I'd take an EE type of improvement but that took a change of scenery.
Zack is what he is. A slick fielding, medium powered shortstop.
It would have been nice to have tried out DiDi but not sure how that could have happened.

This is Zack's second season. Sophomore season if you will. He's still learning major league pitching. Most big leaguers don't sniff full time play until age 25-26, the bell curve says they peak within two-three years after debut and then it's all down hill? I don't buy it. Guess I need to research it.

Well, this theory that Doug is talking about goes back to Bill James in the 80s, and if you are suggesting that you know more about baseball than Bill James, then perhaps your butt is the one with words coming out of it.
When did this board become full of skeptics to even basic advanced baseball knowledge? Every time Doug or RMR posts something anymore people come out of the woodwork with some snide comment that contributes nothing to the conversation.

You probably do need to research it then because it has been shown over and over again that guys tend to do just that.
I would also argue that guys who don't sniff full playing time until they are 25-26 aren't starting by the time they are 30. Clearly there are exceptions, but guys who aren't starting in the Majors by 23-24 usually don't start for very long.
Cozart has a 5.8 UZR/150 and a .638 OPS.
Did has a 2.1 UZR/150 and a .692 OPS (and falling).
Didi is much younger and will probably end up being a marginally better player than Cozart. Neither are very good and giving up Didi for Choo was a no brainer.
