With UZR, I have more faith, but I will be waiting for the Fielding Bible, especially for a guy with about 60% of a season. Cozart seems about right in that above-average area. Gregorius just doesn't jive with the eye test of a below average defender for me. Maybe he is, I haven't watched him play a ton this year, but I have seen him play a ton in the past and that just doesn't jive with him being a slightly below average defender.

Video or in person is the only way to evaluate fielding actually.

Shouldn't there also be a way to do meta-analysis? I understand that fielding stats are still in their infancy, but we shouldn't just throw them out with the bath water IMO. That said, I agree that they should be complemented by visual analysis.

Video and live analysis are crucial to evaluating a players defense. But you also need statistical analysis to see how they are doing against their peers.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Which is why I like The Fielding Bible. They review every single fielded ball in the game on video to determine the value of the play.

Sounds like a job for Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, and Raj. With resultant disagreements on interpreting observations.

And any disagreements are solved by playing Rock, Paper, Scissors, Spock

It's actually, Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock

    It goes like this,

    Scissors cuts Paper
    Paper covers Rock
    Rock crushes Lizard
    Lizard poisons Spock
    Spock smashes Scissors
    Scissors decapitates Lizard
    Lizard eats Paper
    Paper disproves Spock
    Spock vaporizes Rock
....and as it always has, Rock crushes Scissors

So...an update on Drew Stubbs's first season in Cleveland:

So not exactly a changed guy like some thought (trust me, some folks on here were talking about how he is a new hitter after one month in Cleveland). His slash line fell just below career averages across the board.

Think he would have been a useful tool in CF this year with the amount of time Ludwick missed, but yeah he is what he is.

Didi finished with a .252/.332/.373/.704 line as a 23 year old. Not terrible, but not "good" either.
