Wholesale changes for the Reds. Bill Rhinehart at first. Cairo at second. Valdez at short. Janish at third. Navarro catching. Arredondo pitching. Ludwick in left. Jones in center. Harris in right.

Ground ball has Valdez moving to his left, straightening up and firing. One down.
Konerko swings late and muscles it to right to reach base.
Dunn works a walk off of Jose Arredondo. He was down 0-2 but stayed patient. 1st and 2nd. Pinch runners for both Konerko and Dunn.
Ramirez looking bad. Three swings and three misses. Ks.
Fly ball to center gets Jones drifting back to make the catch.

    0-0. Nobody.

Hector Santiago will work the 8th.

Harris caught napping on a pitch on the outside corner. K.
Ludwick sends the ball back to the mound. It is knocked down, fielded and fed to the first baseman. 1-3.
High fly to left-center and Janish is retired.
14 Reds in a row retired. The other day the Reds finished the game with 15 consecutive batters retired. They got a shot at that today.

    0-0. Nobody.

Logan Ondrusek working the 8th. I agree with Cowboy. Dusty overworked this bullpen last year. Larry Dierker once wrote an informative article about his managing days. He said he had to learn that some games you can win the battle and, in the process, lose the war; basically talking about overworking the bullpen.

Swing and a miss. Viciedo Ks.
Foul tip strikeout. Morel retired. K.
Three pitches. Three strikes. Three Ks.
    Pretty impressive.

    0-0. nobody.

First team to have a player reach third wins. Let me check. I don't believe anyone has reached third in the game. Kelch, reading my mind, confirms.
ReyRey Olmedo in the game. A name from the past. Someone named Bruney on the mound for the ChiSox.

Navarro drives the ball hard into the right field corner. Just foul. Smashes the next pitch to the second baseman. (15)
Ball four to Jones. Reds have a baserunner. Streak is over. Yes! First Red to reach base other than Zack Cozart and it took until the 9th.
Cairo singles to right on a hit and run and Jones reaches third. REDS WIN REDS WIN (jk)
Safety squeeze and the Reds score. Valdez reaches safely on a perfect bunt. Dusty pulling a rabbit out of his hat.
Rhinehart slices the ball to left for the second out.
Rolen forces Valdez at second on a bouncer to short.

    1-0. Reds.

Carlos Fisher on to try to nail this one down.

Saladino locked up a breaking pitch. 4th straight K for Reds' pitchers. One down.
Janish with a nice play on a checked-swing roller to third.
Pop up to first. Rhinehart does his best Todd Benzinger imitation. Game over.
