Heisey knocks in an insurance run and barely misses a dinger.

It's funny, but it's understandable. Stubbs' talent level is off the charts. If looking like a player translated to stats, Stubbs would be an all-timer. The only thing lacking is making contact more consistently. Of course we've been saying that for three or four years now, but I haven't given up yet. He bunted for a base hit in his first AB of the season, so there's still hope!

The thing is, Stubbs' talent level is not off the charts. Putting the bat on the ball is probably the most important skill a position player can have. And Stubbs is poor in that area.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

Great Opening Day. Johnny Cueto certainly looks like an ace to me. Not many strikeouts true enough. But he reached back and got a couple big ones when he needed them.

Opening Day is a lot more fun when the team wins.
