I'm sure Arroyo will get us back on track tomorrow.

I really believe Stubbs would be one of the most dangerous guys in baseball if he got very good at taking walks. Once he's on first, pitchers panic. I don't care if he's bunting, hitting singles or getting hit in the face by pitches every other at bat, he needs to get on base.

And once our starter is pulled, we need to start working the count to get their pitches up and get them out of the game as well. Something this club really needs to work on and I think could put it over the top offensively.

But I understand my sabre ways aren't for everyone.
I don't disagree with a thing you said. I suppose reading all the knee jerk reactions like LATOS SUCKZ and WE CAN'T HIT!!! gets grating after a while. We're a good baseball team. If we're very good, we'll lose approximately 40% of our games. People need to calm down.

I don't really think Mes has called a great game behind the plate. I know it's on the pitchers too, but yea.

Seeing how wacky this year is starting (Beckett giving up 5 homers in one game, Valverde blowing a save after refusing to do so last year, Sabathia walking Sean Rodriguez to get to Carlos Pena etc.) Arroyo might throw a perfect game hahaha

You must be new here. You are asking people to go against their Sundeck instincts.

Never thought losing Madson would be that big but this bullpen looks bad. Hoping Leake and Bailey can pitch as well as they did last season to limit the innings from them

I'm just now slowly coming to this realization. It's terrifying.

I absolutely agree. It's game two with 160 to go. I didn't expect Latos to go out and throw a no-no. I thought he might struggle. He's young, in a new park, he's a slow starter, he just witnessed the craziest Opening Day city in baseball, he's working with a catcher he's only worked with during one spring and going up against an offense that features the NL batting champion, Ramirez, Stanton etc. etc. etc.

If there's one situation where you DON'T judge a young pitcher, it's the one Latos is in right now.

No worries. Just treat every failure like it is always representative of both the player and team.

Do you really not know? Hint - he fared better than Latos.

Last year we had 3 left handed hitters on the team (one of whom was Freddy Lewis) and we got beat a lot by mediocre right handed pitchers. This yeas we have 3 left handed hitters on the team, and we are once again being shut down by mediocre right handed pitching.

Is thsi just a coincidence or do you think there might be a connection?

I'd love to see your reaction if Latos walked the bases loaded- twice.

Yeah...this is obviously on Dusty!!! What's up with all the Dusty hate around here. Sure he has his moments, but LaRussa does too.

If SD gave up 3 top prospects in addition to Latos, yeah, you probably would.

This place is nothing compared to a certain Red Sox board. Not only do they overreact twice as bad as this place, they're a zillion times more superstitious. During their losing streak to start the season last year, they were unbanning everyone from the forums they previously banned and forcing them to start game threads, posting crazy pictures and other insanity trying to break the "curse". An absolute meltdown.

    It was fun to watch.
