I think there are going to be some growing pains with Matheny but I still believe he will be a good manager. He's going to make some mistakes the first year though. He probably should have left in Scrabble considering he is the type of pitcher that is very good against both right and left handed hitters. I still can't complain being 5-2 on this road trip.

Did anyone notice that the Gameday app showed his 94 MPH pitches to be changeups? Who throws a 94 MPH changeup? Oh yea... Chapman does.

Seriously though why did it do that?

    Awesome tweet from David Freese:

Yep, rookie mistake, or maybe he is still not sold on the reverse righty splits Heisey show. But after watching the highlight, Salas didn't execute either, that was one hittable pitch Heisey stroked.

The Cards TV broadcast team at the end of the game made an excuse for the loss is because Cards did not start all their regulars.

I must have missed where Phillips and Rolen started today

Just curious but what did they say about the Reds not playing Rolen and Phillips? (I know Phillips was hurt)

Been scratching and clawing to get a win these last few days, but that is what good teams are able to do - find a way - when the offense, batting .201, isn't really clicking and trying to find a rhythm in the early goings of this new season.

Registered 14 hits, yet left 11 on base. Wow!

Nice come from behind win. Needed that because you do not want to fall too far behind. Chapman can go into the rotation anytime now please. I'm sure though we will have to suffer through about 7 or 8 Bailey batterings before they finally make a move.
The Cards TV guys are the pits. Nothing but excuses and tearing down the opponent. Also said some really stupid things about the Reds. You could tell they didn't do their homework.
Hopefully the Reds do well this weekend in DC. I'll be attending the Friday night and Saturday afternoon games. I'm packing an extra lunch Saturday. It's Bailey against Jackson. Going to be a long evening with those two starting.
