I heard it was gonna take longer than expected, but that may have just been a generic answer.

Probably not. French is an 86-88 MPH guy (a few starts ago he didn't top 86) who relies on perfection to be good. If he can't nail his spots perfectly, guys are going to hit him.

Wow. Given the choice I think I would have moved Cingrani. I wonder if Lotzkar's spot in the rotation lined up more closely.

Cingrani pitched on the 2nd. Lotzkar on the 3rd.

I wonder if it has more to do with Lotzkar have a solid advantage in secondary stuff and the Reds wanting to keep Cingrani in Bakersfield to work with Rigo Beltran on his secondary stuff, which he is still a little hesitant to use as often as most other starters are.

    Pretty sure Brackman isn't injured.

His ego might be at this point, but you are probably right.

Navarro was activated off the 7-day disabled list and Daryl Jones was placed on the disabled list.

I've also read that Tom Brown in AA seems to have a reputation as one of the coaches that works well with arm mechanics. If any prospect in this organization needs help in that department, it's Lotzkar.

    Re: 2012 Minor League Transactions

There have been a lot of moves in Bakersfield over the past few days. Yorman Rodriguez was finally sent to "Billings". When Billy Hamilton and Josh Smith were placed on the temporarily inactive list, Chris Joyce and Sammy Diaz were called up. Diaz was promptly sent down three days later without entering a game. Justice French was promoted from Dayton. Pedro Villarreal was promoted from Pensacola to Louisville. Kyle Lotzkar was promoted from Bakersfield to Pensacola. Brian Peacock is in Louisville while Pensacola's only catcher is Mark Fleury, so I'd expect Peacock to go back to Pensacola soon now that Dioner Navarro is off the disabled list. Plus Willie Harris was outrighted to Louisville, so there's even more of a need to make room.
