In case you didn't already know about Wirfin Obispo, he was originally signed by the Red Sox as an infielder but released not very long after. The Reds proceeded to sign him and convert him to a reliever. However, he got in trouble for participating in a Dominican marriage scandal. Following that, he went to play in Japan for about five years but missed significant playing time due to injury. Anyway, the Reds signed the 27-year-old this off-season, and last night he made his first appearance for the Reds since 2006. He struck out one and allowed two hits in one inning of work.
I hate it when that happens. At least it wasn't an Icelandic marriage scandal. That's a career-ender.

Those Dominican Divorce Scandals are no day at the beach either.

Apparently the Reds have signed right-handed pitcher Michael Wuertz to a minor league deal.

Billy Hamilton to the inactive list. He is attending a funeral and should only miss a few games.

To make room for him, John Holdzkom was sent to Billings. Holdzkom has issued 13 walks in 8.2 innings pitched. On the bright side, his WHIP is under 3.

Well, now I am confused. Jamie Ramsey tweeted this afternoon that Billy Hamilton was on the temporary inactive list to attend a funeral, but is in the Blaze line up tonight.

With those types of numbers you can close for the Cubbies.

At least Marmol hasn't issued a wild pitch this year. Holdzkom already has five.

Dang. After winning that award, he only pitched 12.1 innings.

It can't be good for Billy Bray to be sent to Goodyear. Does anyone know why this move was made?? I thought they were just going to give him as many innings as possible in Louisville so he could get his arm strength up to par.
