That was some Little League-quality decision making there.

Sometimes I think Dusty places showing his confidence in a guy over winning a game. He did that last year and it drove me nuts.

Didn't see much of it today.

Dusty didn't use Bray because he feared a long game.

Dusty didn't use Marshall because he was saving him to close.

Usually I might agree. But when Simon is the alternative, I have to criticize the move. You just can't pitch Simon in that spot.

No question. And I can't defend that. However, when you have a manager who won't properly use his best relief pitcher and a GM who can't get the team one or two extra decent bats off the bench, they have to take the blame for games like these.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

The scout who was high on Simon was just high.
    Where we gonna go?

I'd rather blame the millionaires on the field that aren't getting it done.

Me too. That is simply terrible. And as far as Simon goes, he looks like the kind of guy that can look like a million bucks in the pen but can't handle a pressure situation and is only good in "mop up" duty.

Then why was he warming up?

He has six strikeouts in less than 3 innings of work. I'd say the scout rightly saw something in him.

This was a team loss: players, manager, bullpen.

Votto and Bruce can't win every game. The others need to help, too. And when management doesn't get strong depth you get games like this.

The bullpen? They gave up one run in 5 innings and didn't throw their 2 best arms. I'll go with offense and Dusty.

It was on everybody. The ace needs to go more than 5 innings. One of the reasons Simon was in was because Latos couldn't go longer.
