This is just a bad offensive team, too many strike outs and honestly it looks like they don't have a plan at the plate.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Well at least no one has thrown a no-hitter against us this season. That's about the only positive thing I can say at this point

No one spiked themselves, Homer battled through it today, Two positives atleast.

If it were up to me...

    Willie Harris, cya.
    Brook Jacoby, cya.
Todd Frazier, bring up your lousy AAA avg and give it a whirl up here.
Stubbs and Heisey get to platoon in CF to see who can strike out the most.
Until Mesoraco learns to either give you a professional at bat or call better games, more of Hanigan and his .120 avg. At least he can call a decent game.
And as bad as Ludwick is, I'm rolling with him and hope he starts to hit.

Walt did nothing to improve the offense in the off season. They have a 37 year old often injured clean up hitter with warning track power, they have no legit lead off hitter and they have guys who swing and miss too much.

#Reds are hitting .500 with runners in scoring position today. Of course, they are only 1-for-2.

Although Cairo did suffer a hamstring injury.

Brandon is back tomorrow. Maybe that's the ticket.

Stupid me thought we played a night game today, and didn't learn otherwise until I tuned into FSO at 7:00. So I figured I'd read the game thread and see what my fellow Reds fans thought of our latest offensive debacle. You guys made the thread very entertaining in a sad way, haha. Far more entertaining than this Reds team has been so far. I read on Twitter that this is the fewest runs by a Reds team through 9 games since 1901. Yes, 1901. I'm pretty sure that was a long time ago.

Good for you in missing this game.

Victory in Jesus....not the Jesus that was on base 4 times.

Re: Reds vs. Nationals Saturday 4/14

Dusty Baker didn’t blame hit hitters’ approach in the 4-1 loss.

“If you were patient, it was Strike 1,” Baker said. “If you were aggressive, a lot of times it was a breaking ball. He was on. When a guy’s on, you can come up with all the excuses. . . ”

Baker was curious if Jackson was that good or the Reds hitters were that bad. He put the question to home plate umpire Tim Welke.

“He said, ‘hey, he’s that good,’” Baker said. “He was sharp. Everything looked like a fastball. It would be a breaking ball in the dirt . . . The worst thing you can face is a relaxed pitcher. When you’re not scoring runs, they relax. That’s what he did.”
Baker sticking up for his players. Admirable. But we all know, it is the hitters and the approach.

That's the Reds: relaxing the opposing pitchers since 1991.
    Is it "next season" yet?
