I have no idea if it's normal to give non-pitchers take signs, but it's sad that 1) our players don't understand that themselves and 2) that they aren't getting it. If you gotta baby them do it.

    Homer needs a quick fifth.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

I could not agree more. If they insist on swinging at anything close then start giving the take sign.

We've lost someone to injury on nine percent of our scoring plays so far this season.

The team did see 10 pitches that inning. So that is a positive.
To be fair, batters are hitting a career .350 against Jackson on first pitches and .315 on 2nd pitch in his career.

The Reds need to shake up their coaching staff, this team comes out so damn unprepared. The glow of 2010 is fading for Dusty and Price.

Are you saying it's a good thing we aren't scoring more often?

That stat is worthless. It doesn't include the batters that swung and missed on the first or second pitch and fell behind in the count.

97 pitches through five. I guess Bailey has to suck it up for one more.

Yeah, we could run through the 25 man roster by the ASB.

Better velocity as well, 94-95. They fished quite a bit though. If that is because of "deadarm" that would increase evidence this team is unprepared. That should have happened at the end of spring training.
