    I 92's Baseball Trivia....Less Hits

What active MLB player has the biggest difference in career games minus career hits? (players with more games played than hits)

Ex. Ramon Hernandez has played in 1464 career games and has 1303 career hits....his difference is 161. What active player has the biggest difference?

Adam Dunn might be high on that list after his season last year. But if you included OBP as a measure of how many games he has been on base versus not, obviously that number would drop.

Well it can't be Stubbs - his career is too short. Ludwick probably is not great on that list, but not horrible either. BTW, I am not looking this up, so I might be waaay off.

Okay, now I have to go peek.

He's been around long enough and gotten by on versatility/OBP... Willie Harris?

    Nope not Willie.

It definitely has to be a player that has played a long time.

FWIW....Dusty, Jacoby and Hatcher were all long careers with more games than hits

Well there was a certain 2nd baseman who was -48 in 152 games of his rookie season, the only season of his playing career. He became a pretty decent manager, so I don't think you can use career hitting stats as an indicator of managing/coaching ability. Ted Williams was a horrible manager.

    RIP Sparky!

Well whenever my ex used to say, "I don't mean to offend you," I knew it was time to duck for cover from the verbal assault that was forthcoming.

If he were active I would have said Juan Castro. His difference was a staggering 502.

The answer has to be Nick Punto at 239.
