    Jeter....How Many?

He looked to be washed up but is hitting .342 since the all-star break and at 3105 hits at age 37 for a couple more months.....how many do you think he'll end up with?

    2012.....3270....age 38 3 months

    2013....3430....age 39 3 months

    2014....3580....age 40 3 months

    2015....3715....age 41 3 months

    2016....3827....age 42 3 months

    3827 is my guess

That is how difficult it will be to break Pete's record.

    3727.

For some reason I used to look at Jeter as an over rated player. Maybe yankee-hate, who knows, but I never tried to appreciate it.

First ballot hall of famer, most likely. Boy was I stubborn.

You've got to look at the big picture with Jeter: Never a hint of scandal, always ready to face the media when things aren't going right, doesn't suffer fools gladly but knows when to keep his mouth shut, and he simply elevates his game when the pressure is on.

People who don't live in New York just don't realize how nuts the sporting media is here. indeed, the lack of media intensity is one of the reasons Joey gave for staying with the Reds. But Jeter just blocks it out, he seems to thrive on it.

Starting to feel a little bit the same way about Eli Manning.

    Jeter tearing it up early.

    Hitting .403 and playing young.

    Re: Jeter....How Many?

I read a story that the Reds almost drafted Jeter but took Chad Mottola instead. This article says the Reds were in on Nomar Garciaparra as well. But took C.J. Nitkowski. How we looking on those two?

    http://reds.enquirer.com/1999/10/15/..._it_could.html

“Those are the two times that I went away from my basic philosophy,” Mock said of Jeter and Garciaparra, “which is to take the best player.”

Obviously he is getting a lot more rest now with Minka Kelly out of the picture.

less than you think because he will decline and NY (press/fans/ownership) will not accept decline in anyone.

And Jeter will not play for another team

All things considered, I think I would rather be tired.

Jeter won't break it. He may be hot this year but you're still talking 1100 hits he needs to come up with. How hot will be next year? And the year after that? And the year after that? Let Pete in!
