Why are the Cards successful? The sum of their talent is not equal to that which is their parts. They are getting a dollar out of 2 quarters and 3 nickels seemingly. It just doesn't add up.
Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

Nice pitch on the inside corner. Freese strikes out looking.
These starters have serious first inning issues, and they did last year too. What are they doing in the pen pregame???
After 1 inning, Cards 1, Reds 0.
Lohse at 7 pitches.
Cueto at 24 pitches. Ouch.

Rolen grounds out to short.
Not a good at-bat, Boss.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Bruce flies out to left on the first pitch.
