    Tuesday 4/17/2012 Minor League Updates

Sean Gallagher on the mound for the Bats.

Ex-Red Quintin Berry singles, steals second and advances to third on a groundout to start the proceedings. A walk and a double follow. Bats trail 1-0. Runners on second and third. Gallagher gets ahead in the count 0-2 to the next batter before walking him to juice the bases. Sac fly. 2-0.

I am a bit confused. Some of the Toledo players' batting averages start with 3-something. I thought a batting average could only start with a zero or a one or maybe a two.

Valaika singles and then is forced by Phipps, who subsequently gets caught stealing. 2-0 after one.

Fu-Te Ni is pitching for Toledo. I speak a little Tawainese..... That stands for Billy-Bob Johnson.

Paul Janish reaches on an error by the third baseman and then something very strange happened. Billy-Bob Johnson was taken out of the game and replaced by Austin Wood.

Navarro walks, gets sacrificed to second, moves to third on Valaika's second hit of the night and scores on Phelps' force out. 2-2. Walks to Dorn and Soto have the bases loaded with two down. D. Jones strikes out to end the threat.

Dayton scoreless after two. Vicioso with the lone safety, a double in the first. Radhames Quezada on the bump for the Dragons.

Two-out singles by Juan Perez and Ryan Wright followed by a walk to Danny Viciosi load them up. But the Dragons fail to push across a run.

It is early but as it currently stands Quezada has a 0.75 ERA. Portillo, his mound counterpart is even better at 0.66.

Sean Gallagher has settled down nicely by stringing together three straight goose eggs.

Bats down 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th. Navarro and Valaika already have multi-hit games.

Blue Wahoos down 2-0 in the top of the 5th. The Blue Wahoos already have four errors. Corcino has made two himself and now the Suns have bases loaded with only one out.

Christiani gets through the top of the 8th without giving up a run. A double was allowed.
