    Great game by Cueto

If you are looking for a silver lining, Johnny Cueto isn't a bad place to start. Dating back to early in 2010, in his last 52 starts covering 327.2 innings pitched his ERA is 2.75. Some say he has been lucky. I'd say he has become an ace.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

He was excellent tonight. Too bad it was wasted. He is certainly approaching ace status.

Cueto has ace stuff. But he needs to be more consistent: with his health and game-to-game production. Some days he just doesn't look like an ace... howver tonight he did. Unluckily, as a Cards fan, he's still young enough to where he can develop that consistency.

Cueto was a friggin warrior tonight and pitched a great game considering he didn't have his best stuff. This team could use 24 more players like him.

Huh? in his last 52 starts covering 327.2 innings pitched his ERA is 2.75. how much more consistance do you want? Please feel to name of all those pitchers in baseball who have out performed those numbers?

Yeah, he is already an ace. Consistency is almost impossible in baseball, yet Cueto does it all year.

Went over to espn.com to check out some pitching stats. Last year, Matt Cain led the NL in percentage of quality starts at 79%. Cueto came in 8th at 75%. Among the pitchers he finished ahead of: Ian Kennedy, Tim Hudson, Tim Lincecum, Yovanni Gallardo, Zach Greinke, Jair Jurrgens, Madison Bumgarner, Wandy Rodriguez, Daniel Hudson, Matt Garza, Mat Latos, Ryan Vogelsong and every single St. Louis starting pitcher.

Oh yeah, by the way, he makes half of his starts in GABP.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.
