Anybody else notice that Bray seemed unable to throw his slider in any recognizable fashion last night? Usually he throws that thing close to 50% of the time, it seems, and it always snaps. Last night, he threw almost all fastballs, and the few breaking balls he threw didn't look even professional.
Not a good sign.
Being injured all spring couldn't help
I cringe everytime he goes to the mound because he hasn't been the same since his surgury. He constantly has a glossy ERA, but inherited runners often score.

If Bray can't locate and throw his slider, he is useless to the Reds right now.
I think he hasn't been used much because of his last spring game, which was about his third of the year. Starting in AAA would have been the best for him just to extend his Spring Training, but our pen was in need of arms (given the Simon pick up) so he started in Cincy.Originally Posted by lollipopcurve

I didn't see the end of last night's game. But if Bray is without his slider, there is no way he should be active right now. Get him healthy.
Maybe get Hoover up here in the interim. Bray is not a major league pitcher at the moment.
