Wednesday April 18, 2012 Minor League updates

Dayton with an early start today on a likely 'education day'.

Theo Bowe led off the game with a single and now has added a steal. Tanner Robles will be on the mound for the Dragons.

Each team got a run in the first. The opponent has some big name prospects playing today.

Still 1-1 after two. Robles not off to a great start with 4 hits and a walk. He does have 2 K in 2 IP, though.

Two steals for Bowe as well.

    Waldrop also with a hit.

In addition to Arias' bomb, Yovan Gonzalez hit one in the 7th.

Apparently the 7th inning wasn't over when I posted that first update. The Dragons scored again in the top of the 7th to make it 9-4.

The Dragons get through the bottom of the seventh without allowing a run or hit. 9-4 heading to 8.

    Dayton wins 9-4.

I don't know anything about Yovan Gonzalez except that he's a catcher and he's had a nice start to the season. Those are both good.

Toledo brought the whipping stick tonight. They lead the Bats 6-1 after 4.5. Chad Reineke is bearing the brunt of the whipping. 4.1 IP 13 H 6 R 2BB 2K. Soto has a double and a single. Rhinehart knocked him in with a double.

Pensacola almost underway. Tim Crabbe (pretty appropriate if you ask me) will be slinging the ball for the Wahoos.

As previously mentioned the Dragons kittyhawked Fort Wayne by a score of 9-4. Lots of hits and lots of runs. Tanner Robles had a mediocre performance but Dayton's pen didn't take any bull, hurling 3.1 scoreless frames.

Andy Oliver lost his control, and the Bats took a 7 - 6 lead. A three-run shot by Mike Costanzo tied it. Then Jordan Smith gave up 3 runs (at least) before getting an out.

This was lost in the shuffle, but Louisville's Kanekoa Texeira has been placed on the disabled list.
