It was a good move to put Bray in for an inning no matter how badly he stunk up the place. He needs the work and the game was out of hand.

We've tried all kinds of lineups with every player on the roster. None of them are working.

Now it's up to Walt to make a move or two. BP to the DL and Bray to AAA...get a couple of new faces. Oh and get rid of Harris.

Was that the 6th time in the last 9 games this offense has scored just one run? 2.75 runs per game. If you think about it the most amazing statistic of the year is that this Reds team is averaging 2.75 runs per game but has not been shut out. If you take away their 8-run explosion the average dips to 2.3 runs per game. And no shutouts. It may take awhile put this team is going to get their one run. Relentless.

    Quit lyin' to yourself.

Plus, part of the reason StL is hot is because they're playing us for 6 times this early.

You can take flawed players and put them in whatever order you want. Ultimately, they're still flawed players.

Walt went into yet another season with no leadoff man, no protection for Votto, a crippled third baseman, no left fielder... sigh. It's just frustrating to watch year after year after year.
Rounding third and heading for home...

Definitely. Dusty's mismanaged a good bit this season, but he knew what he was talking about when he said Bray wasn't ready for the late-inning role yet. I'm not sure if it's a matter of lingering effects from his spring training issues, but he needs to get his game together.

    Did Phillips go to Dusty?

He had to last year to get him outta the 4 hole....Phillips hates it and admits to changing his approach....he just swings for homers.

Stubbs is a ridiculous #2 choice.

    One run....doesn't matter, Latos stunk

Why ridiculous? Stubbs may strike out a lot, but it's not like he doesn't walk either. There are worse things in the world than having Stubbs at 1st for a pitcher to worry about with Votto and Phillips at the plate.

Oh....I forgot Stubbs was an on base machine. He's always on base it seems. He's had what 2 balls land in the OF grass this year? Pretty good.

In his last 222 PA, Drew Stubbs has a slugging percentage that only Juan Castro would be proud of - .250. That number includes 6 doubles and 1 triple. Zero round trippers. In 46 PA this year he hasn't even sniffed an extra base hit. I mean not even close to one. But he has drawn all of 2 walks. When he regresses to the mean, pitchers will pay. Or so they say.
