Anyone listening on XM (186), the Cardinal announcers are interviewing Brandon Phillips. Good stuff.

It was nice to see the ball leave the yard today.

It was nice to face a less-than-stellar Adam Wainwright.

Arroyo has been doing this season what Latos should be doing

If you review latos's numbers he is not a great starter, he heats up as the weather does.

So guys, did they actually play better, or did LaRussa Jr. throw out the D team and we got lucky?

Hard to say. Freese sat. Molina sat. Berkman sat and was placed on DL. Wainwright clearly isn't all the way back.

Reds swung the bats batter. So maybe a bit of both.

Well actually only 2 starters sat and that happens especailly in week day get away games. I am betting had Berkman not been hurt he plays. As for Wainwright, we are seeing that even the good ones take time to come back from TJ surgery.

I don't care if we were facing a split squad type lineup, a win is a win. These game threads are much more enjoyable to read after a win. Last night I was thisclose to jumping off my boy Stubbs' bandwagon for the first time. Glad I hung in there, haha. Also, kudos to Bronson. He takes a lot of heat from Reds fans, but I love the guy. He's doing his job.

He also stated that he realizes the Cardinal fans are against him and (he) is there to entertain. Brandon said he loves the challenge of hitting in different places in the lineup. He said the basics liking keeping it real. They seemed to enjoy the interview with him.
