    The Manager of the Future:

I'm going to try to remain impartial when it comes to talk of firing Dusty - I simply want to get a gauge for what you all are thinking these days...

ESPN posted an article this morning on managers that are currently sitting in the hot seat: http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/the-...st%3fid%3d3830

Though it was written by Jim Bowden (who I'm, admittedly, not a fan of) it does bring up an interesting point; if Dusty is on his way out then the first three men in line for the job are Terry Francona, Tony La Russa, and Barry Larkin (in no particular order).

Who would you like to see manage the club in the future?

Creating a poll about who should replace the existing manager when he is still the manager doesn't exaclty scream of being impartial towards him.

And BTW, the existing manager is closer to an extension than he is a pink slip.

EDIT....I see Dusty as one of your options. Me and my quick fingers!!!!!

If the Reds don't make the playoffs this year there is no way Baker comes back.

David Bell is the next manager but I want Corky Miller.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I've got Dusty's back until we miss the playoffs this year. If we're saying Manager of the Future, it's not Baker. I honesty think he's less than three years from retirement, regardless of how well the Reds perform. I voted for Francona, and here's why:

Obviously, as a lifelong Reds fan, I would want it to be Larkin. But I think he needs to start managing somewhere in the farm system first. Right now he seems pretty comfortable with his TV gig.

So, with Larkin not likely, I'd choose Francona. While he had four sub-.500 years with the Phillies before his string of success with the Red Sox, there was definitely a lack of talent on those clubs. The thing is, this Reds team has talent. It seems like a really good fit to me.

If Baker gets ousted in-season I think he's the guy who takes over.

Bring back Trader Jack if Dusty gets fired sometime this season!!! Really tho I dont know who we would get. I just don't see Francona or TLR coming to the Reds. I think it would be someone who you least expect and possibly not that big of a name.

For some reason I would love to see this team get Ron Gardenhire. I like him as a manager, and maybe he gets let go if the Twins have another crappy season.

I'd like us to try one of our in-house options. Bell, Deshields, Riggleman, and Sweet all seem like guys who know what they're doing and would bring less drama to the clubhouse.

Re: The Manager of the Future:

Riggleman or someonw with a little fire in them. Larkin would be the worst choice. he would be even more of a players MGR than baker is.
