Why was Leake skipped or flipped?

    He wasn't. He goes tomorrow.

The rotation has been Cueto, Latos, Arroyo, Bailey, Leake.

Today would be a good day for Willie Harris to bust out of his 0 for his last 12 years slump.

I know people are going to think this is a hater question, but why is Harris hitting in front of Mesoraco? Does anyone think he is a better hitter? Why must the catcher bat 8th?

I can guess a couple things....

    1) Mesoraco in front of Harris negates Harris' speed.

    2) If Mesoraco can continue his hot hitting, you allow Bailey to sacrifice (not swing away) which gives the top of your order scoring opportunities.

    I would offer this.

1)We just saw Mesoraco enter the game as a pinch runner. He does not lumber like most catchers.

    2) You want to get your hot hitters more opportunites to hit not less. If Bruce, Rolen or Heisey are in scoring position, who is more likely to drive them in at this point in the season - Harris or Mesoraco?

    Simple Bakermetrics, my friend.

But why am I having to tell you that?

    Also, Ludwick out...

I'm glad somebody notice Ludstick was benched...the RBI team leader with a lot fewer ABs and he rides pine? What the hell is wrong with Baker? Can't he tell a true clutch hitter when he see's one? Can't you guys either???

    Lotta Heisey homers on RZ.

So long as we're running a lineup of 1001 RHH against RHP, I'll take Ludwick.

    You, of all people....

    "Catcher bats 8th, dude."
“The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Caw.

Hearken back to your days in Geometry. They would give you a Theorem and then give you the Proof.

    Theorem: Catcher bats 8th, dude.

I have that memorized. And after a little searching, I think I may have just come up with the proof.

Proof: “I don’t know it just comes to me,” Baker said. “It comes to me. I trust what comes to me.”

Now I am feeling much better about it.

And there you have it, ladies and germs.

Baker would like to have Stubbs in the leadoff spot and Cozart in the No. 2 spot.

“Hopefully, Stubbs will get his stuff together,” Baker said. “The perfect lineup would be Stubbs leading off with Cozart second.”
