    WP: Cole Hamels (2-0)

Cole Hamels pitched a complete-game five-hitter with 15 K's to get the win for the Phillies. Reds C David Ross grounded into a 5-4-3 triple play in the fifth inning. I was at this game. I got my first-ever foul ball in the fourth inning off the bat of Jeff Conine.

I also discovered my eternal loathing of all things Philadelphia in this game, as I got into a verbal altercation with a Phillies fan who was saying some incredibly horrible things about Josh Hamilton in the presence of some little kids. Things started to escalate, but security eventually came and took him away. As he was escorted out, all I had to say was, "Bye." (I am also an Ohio Bobcats football season ticket holder, and the only problems I have ever had with opposing fans have been when the Cats play Temple.)

High Pockets Kelly has to be my 2nd favorite nickname right after Vinegar Bend Mizell. They sure don't have nicknames today like they did back in the day.
Also you gotta like Creepy Crespi.
