Sulbaran gave up 1 earned and 1 unearned in the first. Blue Wahoos down 2-0. Henry Rodriguez made the error.

Bad break for Didi Gregorius in his efforts to extend his 10 game hitting streak. He hit a blooper to the outfield which fell in, but the runner on the bases was forced out.

Someone doesn't like the strike zone today.

    Joel Guzman strikes out swinging.
Pensacola Blue Wahoos third baseman Joel Guzman ejected by HP umpire Jay Pierce.
Actually, Gameday has this wrong. Guzman was playing first. He was replaced by Miguel Rojas. Henry Rodriguez is playing third.

And speaking of Henry Rodriguez, right on cue he singles in the first Wahoo run. Brodie Greene doubles in a run to tie things up at two apiece.

Is Ryan LaMarre a poor man's Drew Stubbs?

Have you ever asked any Milb players how they feel about games with such early starts? Do they mess with the guys rhythm or do they take it in stride?

Tough to say. He has been kind of similar in his career. Better strikeouts rate (19.7% for LaMarre, 23.4% for Stubbs), Stubbs had a clear walk advantage (11.7% to 8.4%). Stubbs flashed big power in the minors, LaMarre hasn't done so yet. Both are good defenders with excellent speed.

Not a good morning/afternoon for Sulbaran.

    4.2ip, 7er (8 total), 4 walks, 3 strikeouts.
