Mike Costanzo's HR gives the Bats a 1 - 0 lead. Kristopher Negron hit what should have been a home run, but the ball got stuck on the top of the fence, and was ruled a ground rule double. Bizzare.

Louisville won 9-2. Corky Miller had a 2 run bomb and Soto went 1 for 5 with a 3 RBI double. Gallagher: 7 IP 2 ER 4 H 8K. Smith and Texeira both threw a shutout inning.

Pensacola lost 5-2. Cody Puckett went 2-3 with a 2 RBI homer. Crabbe threw 5.2 and allowed 2 ER, Hayes allowed 2 ER in one inning of pitching. Joseph threw a shutout inning and De La Rosa got two outs without allowing a run.

Bakersfield is down 7-3 through 6 innings. Hamilton went 0-2 but drew a walk and stole both second and third. Bryson Smith is 2-2 with a HR and 2 RBI, Lutz also has a HR. Yorman Rodriguez is 0-2. Renken went 4.2 innings and allowed 7 runs on 10 hits but got 9 K's. Partch went 1.1 shutout innings.

Dayton won 7-3 with all runs being scored in the second inning. Juan Silva had 3 hits and 2 RBI. Sierra, Selsky, and Arias all had 2 hits. Buckley was 1-4 with a 3 run HR. The 2-3-4 hitters were the only hitless players for the Dragons. Tuttle threw 5.2 innings and allowed 3 unearned runs. Carlos Contreras threw 2.1 shutout innings and Pinckard threw a shutout inning. Brandon Dailey and Tuttle both had errors. Sierra threw someone out at home.

There were 342 fans in attendance at the Dayton game. Do they usually draw so few fans? Is that bad attendance for A ball?

Lutz is now at a 1.031 OPS in 90 plate attempts and 21 GP.

Billy Hamilton is leading the league in BA by 20 points. He's also leading the league in obp (by 35+ points) and triples, is second in OPS, and seventh (!) in slugging percentage. His 13 BB are fifth in the league. He has the fifth most totals bases and leads in SB by 14.

Donald Lutz is fourth in doubles, second in homers, tied for third in RBI, 13th in BA, 20th in OBP. He's fourth in slugging percentage and OPS and second in total bases in the California League.

Among starters, Tony Cingrani leads the league in ERA and ER. His 28 Ks is sixth despite having one less start than all but one of those ahead of him. He's first in H/9, 20th in BB rate, and fifth in K/9. His K:BB ratio is seventh.

In response to Dayton drawing so few fans, IIRC they usually sellout, they hold a record for most sellouts in a row, or something, I can only assume the weather was reason for a low turn out, as it looked cold in Cincy, yesterday.

Dayton always draws well for the Midwest League. In fact, for the minor leagues in general, they do very well. However, the game was in Beloit, and their games consistently draw under 1,000 people. 342 isn't far from their average, I'd imagine.
