Not a huge deal that he pitched yesterday....but knowing how Dusty uses the bullpen in extras it's perplexing to say the least.
What if Lecure comes in and blows it.... Starts the bleeding noone else can stop, we've all seen it happen. All im saying is the Reds won, we should all be happy..... In baseball no lead is safe.

Why would no one else be able to stop it? 6-0 against the Astros with 6 outs left?....If LeCure sucked and let a couple runners on then put Ondrusek or Chapman in.....proven guys to hold on.

What if Chapman comes into a cool weather game in an unusual scenario and let's the bases get loaded and then goes to a 3-0 count?

Either way it's not a big deal.....but it's a slight thing that weakens you some the next game.

He might have been thinking that Latos would dominate on Sunday. Then with the off day on Monday, Chapman wouldn't pitch for something like 5 days. The Reds appear to believe that he needs to pitch regularly, just not too regularly, to maintain his control. I was a little surprised to see Chapman in the game at that point, but I can see how he might have thought he needed to get him into a game.

I just always think back to that Atlanta game last year when it just didnt matter who they put in.

Yep. He hadn't pitched since Wed. Probably the reason he was rusty and wild. Better have him dust the cobwebs off in a 6-0 game than a close one. Also, letting him pitch the ninth is good experience for him.

LoL Certainly not the dumbest poster ever. Sometimes when you start to make sense around here. You get blasted for it.

I completely agree with you. Wasting Chapman in a 6-0 blowout was not the greatest idea.

He was only on two days rest.

Using chapman in this case MAKES no sense what so ever.

Dusty forgivers a lot of times dont understand baseball either. Ive never been a complete Dusty basher. But i certainly can see where some peoples frustrations come from with him.
