    Rotation shakeup?

Why Leake tonight instead of Latos? When Cueto pitched last night I thought maybe Dusty was skipping Leake. Anyone hear this addressed?

You don't wanna skip any starters if you don't have to, its already been 7 days since Leake pitched

Because of the rainout, Dusty just moved Cueto up one spot, to keep him in on his regular schedule. You don't want to mess with a pitcher who is as hot as he is.

That part I agree with pitching Cueto in his regular spot.

But why not skip your 5th starter when the opportunity presents?

If it was a video game you would go ahead and skip the fifth starter when possible, but the logic is that it can mess with a pitcher's effectiveness to have him go a past his normal recovery period by more than a few days.

That said, I would assume Leake could work a bullpen session or simulated game to keep his timing and still skip a start. Would there be any drawbacks from getting him some work in a non-meaningful game?
