I think Dusty realizes that Harris is in serious jeopardy of losing his job in a few days when Cairo is ready to come back. Therefore, batting Harris No. 2 in the pitch-friendly slot ahead of Votto is Dusty's way of giving Harris one last chance to do something.
You gotta think he is on the thinnest of ice and Dusty knows this.
And why in the world do players need a day off after getting days off on Monday and Tuesday? That's ridiculous.

The Votto/Bruce thing has become sort of a punch line around here, and I agree that it probably is worth a try, I like hitting your best hitters in a row.Dusty broke one of his own rules today with this lineup. Two lefty's hitting together,Harris and Votto.
But keep in mind that on most days every other hitter in the Reds lineup is a righty facing a righty pitcher.
So using "RH" to mean right handed hitter, on most days the lineup would be:
RH, RH, Votto, Bruce, RH, RH, RH, RH, RH.
After Bruce's turn, the Reds would have seven consecutive righty hitters against a right pitcher most days. I think this is influencing the decision.
You could try Wrigley South.
