    5/9/12 -- Reds at Brewers

Frazier's first start in LF. I like it.

Reds lineup: Cozart SS, Stubbs CF, Votto 1B, Phillips 2B, Bruce RF, Frazier LF, Valdez 3B, Hanigan C, Cueto P.

Also, game is on Fox Sports Ohio. I love the change they made beginning last year as far as televising more afternoon games.

Good to see Frazier getting some much deserved PT, but if you're going to sit Rolen, isn't this the chance to let him play some 3B? I understand wanting the defense with the groundballer on the mound, but still, feels like a weird time to give Rolen a day off.

And Valdez 7th ahead of Hanigan? Dusty really doesn't like to take advantage of Hanigan's ability to put the ball in play, does he?
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

Glad to see them try Frazier in LF. I was wondering if they would do this considering how bad LF had been.

    Here's the Brewers lineup:

    1. Nyjer Morgan (L) CF
    2. Rickie Weeks (R) 2B
    3. Ryan Braun (R) LF
    4. Aramis Ramirez (R) 3B
    5. Corey Hart (R) RF
    6. Jonathan Lucroy (R) C
    7. Taylor Green (L) 1B
    8. Cesar Izturis (S) SS
    9. Zack Greinke (R) P

I agree. If Todd fields ok in LF, I could see him getting a bunch of at bats there.

At 3B, for this year, it's tougher for him to get at bats. There's Rolen and Cairo. And Valdez on occasion.

There's a need at both positions, but Todd has a better shot to play in the outfield this season IMO.

Came up as a LF. Very solid defender out there.

It is notable that Ryan Ludwick isn't getting much playing time lately. He played yesterday but Heisey's been getting much of the action and now Frazier today.

Reds can't be happy with LF, it's the obvious place to add some offense. Hopefully Todd will do that.

I'm not sure what the Reds were thinking if they were expecting much more. This position's failure so far wasn't hard to predict.

Wonder what Walt's thinking: His two big off-season bats have been complete flops. Willie Harris was DFA'd one month in and Ryan Ludwick rarely sees the field.

Maybe it's just me but I'd rather see Frazier at Third when Rolen sits than Valdez or Cairo. I like giving him a start in LF every now and then too.

The Brewers are 18-0 at home when greinke starts a game. This was according to the Cowboy.

Zack swings at a decent slider, Zack's 7th pitch. One away.

Greinke has fallen behind 2-0 in both ABs.

Stubbs pops one up behind the plate. Easy play for the 2. Two down.
