Sorry, I was attempting to do pbp with the sound off. Please take over if you wish. I just can't stand Grande, he reminds me too much of losing baseball

Wouldn't even bother with Hoover or Sam. Make Leake go 7 regardless and Simon can finish the final 2. Leake isn't throwing hard enough to get tired.

I blame the law of averages.

The Reds had a 3.17 ERA earlier this week. Saying the Reds and 3.17 in the same sentence doesn't work.

The law took over. Bailey had a bad one, now Leake.

Soon the team ERA will be around 4. Then the law of averages will go away for awhile.

I will change my avatar to Chris Carpenter if the Reds win this game

Gio is at 41 pitches through 2 innings, so the hitters are seeing pitches. It probably doesn't matter at this point with the way Leake is pitching, but it is a good sign.

I wonder if the Red Sox would be interested in some kind of Leake/Bailey for Buccholz swap. All three of those guys seem like they've reached a point where a change of scenery or new approach might benefit them.

Apparently Gio has one of the 'breast' curveball in the game

Not a bad idea at all, but I'd give Leake some innings in Louisville before I think about trading him. Bailey I'm convinced would be better off somewheres else

You know, a few years back there were actually people on RZ who said they were happier with Leake than they would have been with Strasburg.

Let Valdez finish this one out from here. He can pitch.
