My cousin sent me a text from Roosters in Chillicothe (OHIO). He said the place went nuts after the grand slam.

Well....3 hour and 36 minute delay proved worthwhile.

What a freaking long day at GABP.

Seats about 20-25 feet from Harper in his normal position (which was 20 feet deeper than Bruce) when Stubbs was up in the first...Harper was seriously 12 feet from the warning track....only 15 feet away on Valdez.

    A lot of good stuff!

May not have been easy but that's a day you're never going to forget. Wins don't get much sweeter than that.

Joey Votto is simply the freakin' man.

Whatever they are paying this man it isn't enough.

What do you mean "Finally earned his money"? He has been pitched around all year and had still managed to put together a pretty good year. Plus, he isn't even gettin paid all that money yet. Some fans just don't get it!!!!

SWING AWAY: Baker suggested that, for hitters, swinging at the first pitch is fine and that working the count is overrated.
    Perfect.

Working the count is overrated and so is clogging up the bases all the time by getting on. Just swing early and often. That's the ticket.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

    Our esteemed manager.

I bet he was tempted to bench Barry Bonds for taking all those walks. Joey, don't think your job is safe either. We ain't walking our way out of this slump.

I wonder how many toothpicks he went through when Stubbs and Heisey walked in the ninth. Was anyone else surprised Votto was able to hit one out with the bases all clogged up like that?

"Working the count is overrated" can't be a real quote.

The approach this year has been maddening. I wouldn't even mind being aggressive early in counts if they were a little selective. Like look for this pitch in this location and if I get it I'll let it rip...but that's not what's happening. They're getting themselves out on pitcher's pitches more often than not.
