If Homer pitched in Atlanta, Florida, and San Diego all the time people would think he was awesome. He'd be like Latos. Probably better.

Great job, Homer! It must suck being a starting pitcher for this Reds team.

we get 9 runs in a game once a week---then games like tonight we couldnt score if our life depended on it--and the one run was on an error...homer pitches his butt off and 0 to show for it

Yep. Hitting Bailey was probably a confidence building move that was more about the overall picture than the actual situation. I think this is the philosophical difference between Dusty and Sundeckers.

When complaining about Baker, most RedZoners look only at today. ( Actually yesterday, since most complaints are second guesses).

Could have gotten it if they'd pinch-hit for him.

Homer has been in plenty of pressure situations. That was a crap decision by a dumb manager. Save all the philosophical nonsense. If Dusty truly was gonna let Bailey stay in so he could peform under pressure and become a man he would have never gotten Ondrusek up.
A summer watching a bad Reds' team, is still a pretty good summer.

I'm sure Cy Young would've been half the player if he hadn't gotten two outs in the 7th inning of a somewhat meaningless early May game.

If I was Homer I'd rather had been pulled and given a lead and a chance to win the game

A bad decision, but they are right on the reasoning. Baker does what Baker does. If we win this, it may be the real turning point if Bailey's slider takes off and he starts throwing 97mph.

Exactly. Almost as stupid as Dusty letting Latos hit a couple days ago, then pulling him before the start of the next inning. I try to stay away from all the Dusty talk, but it's mind-boggling to me how this guy has 1500 wins as a manager.

Not saying I agree with it, but there has to be a reason (probably not a very good one) for giving away an out in a tie game in that situation.
