BP singles! 3-3 game, Votto to third.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Baker knew Leake was done as a pitcher. He wanted him hitting/bunting.

The number of pitches was not relevant to him.

Bad at-bat by Heisey, immediately pops up near 1st. 1 out.

Bruce pinch hitting for Ludwick, Collins countering with a lefty.

    I would hope not.

    Bruce is 4-10 vs. this pitcher, 2 walks, 2 HR's and a 1.600 OPS.

Yes, I know. Preferring Leake to a pinch hitter is either A) dumb or B) a clear sign that this team is in serious trouble with its bench.

Bruce with a deep flyout to right for the sac fly! 4-3 Reds. Two outs.

I didn't mind Leake hitting as he was obviously seeing the ball well, and he's a good hitter generally.

Having him bunt was the problem.
