He's gotten about 40% of the catcher AB's this season. Which based on his hitting, is all he deserves (at most).

Well, I see it coming--from a guy who hasn't pitched all year. Simply, this offense is just too bad against most pitching. There needs to be changes, but I see none on the horizon. And like someone else said, this lineup is killing us. Cozart and Stubbs at the top of the order is horrible as is Phillips at 4. Why can't Dusty see this?

When the majority of hitters aren't hitting, it's the lineup, not the lineup construction.

It's like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.

Lineup construction would make little difference if the hitters were actually producing like they have in the past.

Because, season after season, Dusty routinely puts his fastest low OBP players at the top of the order. Most people with half a brain would realize that shortstops and center fielders, on average, are not the best hitters on the team and in most cases should not bat 1-2. Not Dusty. He tries every year to make his "lead with speed" approach work, but it rarely does. The failure this year is nothing new or unusual. He may be forced to give it up at some point and the team falls out of contention, but, oh well, he can always try the same thing again next year.

Bobby Abreu hitting .314/.351/.514 in 37 PA's since signing with the Dodgers. Might have been a good move.

Verlander loses the bid for his 3rd career no-hitter on a Josh Harrison single with 1 out in the 9th.
