    If he strikes out he strikes out. Votto and Phillips still have a shot of knocking him in with a hit. The only way that move makes sense is if Votto hits a SF or groundout RBI. Otherwise you're wasting an out. If you're that confident that your RH #2 hitter can't make contact with a LH pitcher then there's a big problem

    Someday I hope I understand why the two guys chosen to hit in front of Votto every game would be guys with OBP of .277 and .290, and be #'s 1 and 2 in strikeouts for the team.
