A few more signs that Bailey's getting there. Slowly.

Quality start for Homer. With 85 pitches, will he pitch the 7th?

    85 pitches by Homie.

    1 walk, 6 k's, 5 hits, 2:1 strike/ball ratio, 2 hr's (wind aided? Maybe). Regardless, I'll take that.

Ready? Wilson Valdez is a pretty good backup player. He went to the World Series in that role with the Phillies. He plays nice steady defense at several positions. He's a pure backup infielder, more of a defensive guy, you can't expect too much hitting but he gets a single or double once in awhile.

The comments about Valdez are just picking on the little guy. He's really not the problem. It's the starting players with sub-.300 OBPs who are the problem.

You may now continue discussing this game, which the Reds are winning thankfully.

Amazing that DeWayne Wise is starting these days for the Yankees. Remember when he was a Reds prospect? Seems like decades ago.

I think the OBP of .195 is the reason and no signs of it getting better.

I agree that he's not the problem. Or even A problem. The problem I had with him was that we already had him and for a much cheaper rate in Janish. Nearly identical hitter, better defender, just as versatile. He wasn't needed. /psudo-rant

It has to be a very, very small sample, Valdez hardly ever plays. I support Wilson.
