Chapman should close.
Coco Marshall
No. He's a great reliever. Who on this club IS a "closer"? Nobody. We've got great relievers. Period.
Not every pitcher is going to have 1-2-3 innings. Not every pitcher is going to have his top stuff every time out.
Keeping Aroldis OUT of the closer role makes it much easier to pitch him multiple innings, and keep the window open for moving to starting. 7 out of 8 save opportunities isn't bad. At all.
That was close. 5-4 FC. Just missed the DP. 1st and 3rd.

I think Francisco Cordero could close. He did it for many years with great success.
I do not know what Marshall was doing there. Nobody could touch his curveball. Every time he got ahead, he threw a fastball and it was lined for a single.
If Marshall doesn't use his curveball as an out pitch, he can't close, he can't set up, he can't be successful.
Again, I don't know what Marshall was doing there.

“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Always making it interesting.
