I honestly don't remember the last time the Reds successfully pulled off a hit and run.

Wonder if scouts now have a book on Cozart and that's part of the reason for his hitting woes?

Get the infielders moving, some of the groundballs they're hitting might get through. Pretty good time to put one on IMO with Hanigan hitting.

Cozart's trouble started when he was moved out of batting 2nd.

    The numbers tell the story:

    Cozart batting 2nd. .354 AVG OPS .998
    Cozart batting 1st .165 AVG OPS .503

Because it opens the hole and Hanigan is probably the perfect guy to do it with. Just the wrong pitch.

I don't mind the call. It's a good way to get a cheap hit and (at the least) move the runner if you get the right pitch - especially with the way the team has been hitting today. Hanigan is the perfect guy to hit and run with....just so happens that the pitch was a foot off the plate.

I have been (somewhat) enjoying George Grande's rosy outlook as compared to Thom, but the way he refers to "Alex" and "Derek" is driving me up the wall.

He's getting impatient again. Part of the reason he was so hot was that he worked the count.
