Article about Reds Fan that Caught Leake/Cozart HRs

Nice story about the 20-year old that caught Leake and Cozart's back-to-back HRs at yesterday's game. He gave Leake's back to the Reds.

Reds fan catches two home runs in same inning — and then gives both balls away

    From MLB.com:
"I gave the Cozart one to my buddy since his uncle got us the tickets," Lloyd said. "He was the reason I was here. The Leake ball, I gave it back, because I knew it was Leake's first Major League home run. I just want to meet him and shake his hand."

Ha ha, the grin on that guy's face when he is being interviewed by Tom and Chris is hilarious. Looks like he was pretty much reduced to being a 5 year old out of shear joy, as I (and I suspect 99% of the posters on this board) would have been.

    Awesome.

I thought it was a great decision to interview that fan. Whomever was ultimately responsible for it gets it when it comes to PR.

I think it was Thom's idea. He was saying to get the fan into the booth.

Yes I believe it was. At first they were saying to Day to have him on the trivia thing they do on Friday home games. Then, Thom said just bring him to the booth and we will talk to him now. Pretty smart of Thom. I guess his dad taught him something afterall.

The fan who caught the two homers will be serving as Honorary Captain and will exchange lineup cards prior to the start of the game tonight, according to Zach Bonkowski of the Reds. Pretty cool stuff.

Should've made Leake pay a bit for that ball. We know he saves on his clothing, not like he couldn't afford it.

He was interviewed by phone on SportsCenter last night. The host was shocked that he gave both balls away.
