Group H would sure be nice. The British are not going to be happy again.

Never mind, I thought CR was Croatia, it's Costa Rica. Italy and Uruguay still tough group.

    We got screwed.

Basically what I've come to expect from FIFA.

Figures we would save Mexico's ass and they would get the better draw.

Wow. I guess the hope is that 4 points is enough and we can beat Ghana and draw Germany or the Ronaldo's.

That's not a group of death. That's a group of everlasting torment. Every one of those teams is good enough to make the final four. Not even Germany is guaranteed to negotiate its way through that group. All four nations are miserable with that draw.

The U.S. still has a chance because it's a quality team, but, man, does it have a rough job in front of it.

Yeah, that's just a normal group of death. Wild prediction: Costa Rica's going to win one of its games.

Guess the US is still hated by FIFA regardless of who is President.

That's not going to help grow the sport in the US. No way the US makes it out of that nasty group.

What a reward for Klinsmann -- manage the US side to their best year in history only to get this draw.

I wish I could read the German and Portuguese sites right now to see their reactions.

Hey nobody ever said you could win the World Cup without beating any quality opponents.

    A) It's ping pong balls not a grand conspiracy.

    B) I would not be defeatist. It's going to be hard for anyone to make it out of this group. All four teams are legit. You could argue the U.S. and Ghana are the best teams in the history of their respective continents. The odds currently being placed on teams advancing out of the group are Germany 92%, Portugal 40%, U.S. 39% and Ghana 29%.

I would assume there's widespread misery. Best case scenario is you fight three wars and advance.

BTW, Group C is sneaky good - Colombia, Greece, Cote D'Ivoire and Japan.

The German sites are flipping out, I'll tell you that much. My mother who grew up there is always upset when her two teams have to play. It is especially tough when Ghana is the "weakest" team in the group.

Can someone who knows more about this than I do explain group H to me? Maybe I just don't know enough to see the quality teams there. How can Spain and Holland be in the same group, a d Germany and Portugal, then have THAT group?
