    Awful match.

I guess Besler/Omar is the starting CB pairing. Either way, today was bad

Not Besler/Cameron? I guess that leaves the uninspiring Brad Evans at Right back.

I think Cameron ends up at RB with Besler/Omar in the middle and Johnson on the left.

Wasn't an awful match to be expected? They were without their most important player in Bradley. The USMNT needs good middle field play to facilitate guys like Altidore, Dempsey, and Donovan for that madder.

Gooch and Jones were terrible on defense. No communication and Ukraine took advantage of that constantly.

Gooch and Brooks. Jones was playing center middie in front of them and he had a fair game.

USMNT up Dos a Cero on Mexico again and it's only the first half. The MLS-based squad is playing sharp. Don't know about those change strips, though. I think they look like Costa Rica's primary uniform.

Ugh. Second half and Mexico looks like they've come to play, while the US defense looks like it wants to go home and get to bed. 2-2.

The Arizona crowd is providing proof to the unwritten rule that you don't play Mexico in the South/Southwest. I'd say the crowd is split 50/50. Either that or the Mexican fans are really loud.

USA just got screwed on back to back calls.

    This was called offsides:

It was a tough call, but those are the kinds of 50/50 offsides calls that go against you at the worst possible moments in most international competitions -- you have to keep fighting through.

My three takeaways from the match:

    1. The US continues to have massive defensive issues. If they don't get them sorted, they'll get blown out of the World Cup this summer.

    2. It's impossible to overstate the difference a healthy Michael Bradley makes to this team.

    3. At this point, it's getting hard to justify leaving Chris Wondolowski off the final Brazil roster.

    That offside wasn't 50 - 50. Horrible call.

Was it legit players or subs playing the back line in the 2nd half?

The entire backline is in the conversation to be on the team. Besler was subbed out for Goodson, but Gonzalez played the whole 90 and looked really bad on the first goal. People are getting on him for the second goal, but that was sort of a fluke play.

I think that 4-4-2 is the way to go though. They were moving the ball really well up top most of the game and I think that is the best formation with Jozy in the squad too.
