No Na$ri or Clichy on the French team

Yeah, Their manager said that Nasri's attitude sucks.
Best news I've heard all day. Now if only that traitor Giuseppe Rossi gets cut from the Italian team my irrational hatred of soccer players who spurned club/country will be fulfilled.

No Tevez on the Argentina squad either. Rumors are he doesn't get along with Messi.
My country Uruguay will probably not win a point. NT coach has done so much to rebuild that NT and it's U17 and U20 (Finals in 2011 and 2013) but refuses to bring in fresher more creative players.
Team has more over 30's than I think any team and in terms of legs.... 4 years is like dog years for players who are in their late 20's and then move into their 30's.
A waste of Suarez and Cavani's talent.
I wouldn't be so down on them. The midfield is a bit soft, but Uruguay is always tough to score on and it's got two world class strikers. Also, I wouldn't be scared of England or Italy. Neither of those teams are adept at controlling the game. Both prefer to play on the counter. In fact, Costa Rica might be the only team in the group that actually wants to play with the ball at its feet. Tactically, this is going to be a fascinating group. Probably gets decided by set pieces and a few moments of individual brilliance. If that's the case, then Uruguay stands a very good chance of making it to the knockout rounds.

Not being scared of Italy is being right where they want you.
Italy can beat anybody, but it rarely dominates. I assume the Italian plan is the same as always: unspectacular advancement to the round of 16 and then start with the smash-and-grab. This isn't a particularly talented Italy squad, but it will make itself hard to beat.
Anyway, point is the other teams in Italy's group shouldn't be in awe of the Italian team. It's the nominal favorite to win the group, but it will give you the ball and it doesn't score much.

Uruguay does follow the Italian old style model......along with some of the English model of kicking the ball up in the air. Pelotasos as they call them . I just wish they would follow some of the Spanish model some and play with the ball instead of consistent form of letting the other team control possession.
You would be surprised at how much the defense has gone down since 2010 WC and 2011 CA. Uruguay will look to play for the draw instead of using the attack that they are capable of. That is to me a defeatist attitude to have. They have MF players capable of helping Suarez and Cavani. They are just too young for this version of Dusty Baker. Sorry only comparison I could think of.
Bunting and Veterans. The worse stereotype you could think of Baker.....is what this NT coach has become.
Gaston Ramirez, who has shown some good quality when he plays but has been injured often....is not even walking. That was their best hope for any offensive help.
I just think this is like Italy in 2010. Bringing too many players from 2006 instead of rejuvenating the squad at least 2 years prior.
I will be happy to be most wrong and enjoy an I told you so from you by the end of the group stage.
