I hope Rolen doesn't come back.

Thanks for the memories Scott, but your time is passed!

    Go Frazier!

I'd like to have him for a defensive replacement when needed. Frazier has not been stellar there.

Lets be honest. Frazier has been terrible defensively. In that sense, I miss Rolen a lot. But at least Frazier's hitting now. Hopefully that continues.

Rolen still has tremendous value to the team, especially defensively and in the locker room. I hope he gets back soon.

Re: I hope Rolen doesn't come back.

I wouldn't mind seeing Rolen come back and playing maybe 2 games a week or something, but I def. do not want him coming back and playing 5 games per wk. or anywhere near that often.

Especially not with Frazier getting pretty hot as of late. Yeah, he's certainly not got the glove of Rolen, but I don't think he is as awful as a lot of people do and the only way he is going to improve is by going out and playing often. Learn from his mistakes. Votto wasn't always the fantastic defensive 1st basemen that he has become, but through playing time and a lot of hard work and dedication, he turned himself into gold glove caliber. And I think Frazier, with a lot of playing time and putting in the hard work could do the same. Frazier's bat, in comparison to Rolen's is simply more important right now IMO.

I'm glad that Rolen is still around for the rest of the season to hopefully work with Frazier on his defensive skills as well as the value overall of his veteran presence in the clubhouse. But no, I def. DO NOT want to see him being trotted out there night after night. Not unless he just starts tearing the cover off the ball offensively and I would be shocked if that happened.

I hope Rolen comes back in a limited role. Even with his struggles, I would rather have him on the 25 man roster over Valdez or K-Stanzo. At best Rolen will be able to help Frazier improve his defense, pinch hit, and be a defensive replacement in the late innings.

    Please define "locker room" value.

I did read once that he's funny as hell, so I guess there is that.

Frazier will get the bulk of the time provided he keeps hitting. If he doesn't Rolen will get the time since Frazier is more of a defensive liability.

That explains why Heisey started two of the three games against the Yankees, three of the four against the Braves (and two of the three in Atlanta before that) and the first two against the Rockies. Ludwick was DH against the Yankees (not much choice with Rolen on the DL) and he started in LF when Heisey was in center for Stubbs and RF when Bruce sat.

Dusty has been playing Heisey ahead of Ludwick regularly the past two weeks.

When (if) Rolen comes back, it will have to be on a limited basis for a few weeks til' he gets "his timing back" as they all say. After that point his bat may determine his playing time. Maybe a late inning replacement defensively. Hopefully the stint on the DL allows him to regain some power.
    Bring on 2018! #%?*!
